Quintapoint® is the newest innovation in pen needle technology. Five beveled needle edges provide additional injection comfort. This unique design features two additional precision cut bevels that create a flatter and thinner needle tip geometry resulting in a smooth injection.

The pen needle could be clogged with crystalized insulin, use a new pen needle for each injection and always prime your insulin pen before each injection according to your pen device manufactures instructions. Under dosing can also be caused by removing the pen needle too quickly after injection. Inject slowly and count to 10 before removing the pen needle. Avoid injecting into the muscle or into scar tissue. Insulin should be delivered into the fatty subcutaneous tissue.  Use shorter lengths or the pinch up technique to avoid injecting into the muscle. Lipohypertrophy or skin hardening scar tissue can result from injecting into the same site.  Avoid this by always practicing site rotation.  Absorption of insulin can be delayed if you inject into scar tissue.

Always use a new pen needle for maximum comfort. Allow skin cleansing topical alcohol to completely dry before injecting. Change the injection site regularly. Inject medication at room temperature. Penetrate the skin quickly. Use the shortest pen needle size to avoid injecting into the muscle. Use the thinnest pen needle gauge. Always consult with your healthcare provider before changing your pen needle length or gauge.

All pen needles are for single use only. Reusing a needle can dull, bend or damage the tip causing potential increased pain, infection, bleeding, bruising or scarring. Re-using a needle can also cause the needle to become clogged as insulin can crystallize inside the needle which can result in inaccurat

Yes, every size of Quintapoint pen needles are compatible with most diabetes pens sold in the US. They have been tested in accordance with the international standards for connectivity and dose accuracy. Please reference our compatibility chart of pens with images. The Quintapoint™ technology is currently available in the 4mm x 32G, 5mm x 32, 6mm x 32G and 8mm x 31G

You should always consult with your healthcare provider when choosing or changing your needle length and gauge. The larger number of the gauge, the thinner the needle, so the 32G x 4mm pen needle is the thinnest and shortest available in the market. The dose amount and your physical makeup will play a part in which size is best for you. According to the review of 157 relevant clinical papers by 127 experts from 27 countries it is noted that even in obese patients, needles shorter than 8mm have equal efficacy and reduce the chance of an intramuscular injection.*

Attach your Quintapoint pen needle by threading / twisting the needle onto your pen clockwise until fully attached. Always attach pen needles straight onto the pen to avoid damaging, breaking or bending the needle.

Detach your pen needle immediately after each injection by twisting counterclockwise. Never leave a pen needle attached to the pen when not in use. Dispose into a sharps container or into an empty re-sealable household container. Once the container is full; seal the lid, label container with SHARPS if not using a labeled sharps container and dispose according to your local sanitation or health department, physician or pharmacist’s instructions.

It varies from state to state whether a prescription is needed to purchase pen needles, but if your pen needles are covered under your health insurance plan a prescription is required for reimbursement.

Yes, site location and rotation is a very important part of insulin delivery. In order to avoid damaging your tissue and causing scar tissue build up, known as lipohypertrophy you must rotate (change) your injection sites. Consult your healthcare provider for their recommendation for site rotation. The most common injection sites include the stomach, upper arm, thigh and buttocks. Inject into the same general area for 1-2 weeks at least 1” apart each time and then move to another area of your body.
